18th 10am | 6pm
19th 10am | 6pm
Hands-On Studio Experience. Real Band. Real Tracks.
Program Begins April 17, 2026
This 2½-day immersive, hands-on workshop offers a deep dive into the art and science of recording music – from the moment sound is created to the final mix and master.
Designed for musicians, songwriters, and aspiring audio engineers, this small-group experience (limited to 10–12 participants) blends demonstrations, listening sessions, and real studio time. Participants will explore how sound is created and measured, learn the fundamentals of signal flow, and become familiar with essential recording tools and equipment – in a supportive, low-pressure environment. You’ll get hands-on with microphones, cables, and studio gear while learning how to effectively capture instruments and vocals, edit recordings, and create a final mix and master.
Pat Kearns will share practical tips, studio stories, and “why it matters” insights that apply across any recording setup – from home studios to professional rooms. Expect plenty of listening, experimenting, and collaborative problem-solving. We’ll be working with a live band – Hotel Mercy!

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a clearer understanding of how recordings come together, a shared track mixed and mastered by the group, and a new set of tools – and ears – to bring back to your own music-making.
Open to participants of all experience levels, from beginners to advanced – any experience level will gain from attending!
Limited to 12 participants— 6 vet/active-duty/military family members - 6 civilian
